Tiny Hooves Foal Rescue
A non-profit organization
located in Crown Point, Indiana

We provide shelter and care for foals that are unwanted, abused, neglected or that are in situations where the owners are unable to care for them.

Our Mission

We strive to maintain a loving, healthy, safe environment, and to create a positive new beginning for the  foals that are in our care.
Their health and welfare is our first priority. We welcome foals, no matter what their situation may be!

We are here when foals are in situations of neglect, abuse, auction and slaughter. We also welcome foals from situations where their owners are not able to care for them or that are unwanted. Our doors are also always open to PMU foals, Ponyskin foals and Nurse Mare foals.

Here are some reasons why so many foals find their way to rescues like Tiny Hooves Foal Rescue:

1) PMU Industry:  Pregnant Mare Urine (PMU) provides hormones in medicine, but the foal is cast off.

2) Nurse Mare Foals Expensive brood mares do not nurse their own foals, a nurse mare does so that the brood mare can be put to other use. But what happens to the nurse mare's own foal?

3) Pony Skin Foals:  It is illegal to send foals under six months of age to the slaughterhouse, so these foals, from one day up to six months old are skinned for high end leather products.

4)
Horse Slaughter/Auctions : Europeans buy horsemeat -- considered a delicacy -- from the US, which slaughters over 90,000 horses per year.

5) Seizure: Abuse and/or Neglect

6
Surrender:  When owners can no longer care for their horses or foals and they want to be sure that they will be cared for and placed in a home that will provide them with the love and care they need.
